The constituency covers the entire Nevasa tehsil an agrarian sugar-belt region on the banks of the Godavari and Pravara rivers, historically significant as the place where the saint Dnyaneshwar composed the Dnyaneshwari. Established in its current form after the 2008 delimitation, the seat has been dominated by the contest between Shankarrao Yashwantrao Gadakh (son of former MP Yashwantrao Gadakh) and his rivals Vitthal Langhe and Balasaheb Murkute.

Gadakh won in 2009 (NCP) and 2019 (on his own Krantikari Shetkari Party), Murkute won for BJP in 2014, and in 2024 Shiv Sena’s Vitthal Vakilrao Langhe narrowly defeated Gadakh (now Shiv Sena UBT) by 4,021 votes. Below is the complete Nevasa vidhan sabha election history from 2009 to 2024 with year-wise results, vote counts, winning margins, and voter turnout data.
